Art Contest 2024

Naugatuck Valley Health District is holding its third Valley-wide Public Health Art Contest, and we are inviting youth/students/campers/etc. around the Valley to participate! We are seeking your help in spreading the word and encouraging submissions.
Ahead of National Immunization Awareness Month (August) and the seasonal influenza season coming in the fall, this year’s contest theme is “Flu Vaccination Awareness.”
We are seeking original drawings depicting the importance of getting the yearly flu vaccine. Submissions will be divided into four categories based on age (five to seven, eight to ten, eleven to thirteen, and fourteen to eighteen), and one winner will be chosen from each category. The winning four will be featured on a printed postcard, which will be mailed to Valley residents to highlight the importance of flu vaccination and encourage recipients to get their flu shot in the 2024-2025 flu season.
The judging panel will consist of Naugatuck Valley Health District staff and the artwork will be judged based on creativity, interpretation of the theme, and originality.
Submissions are due by August 30, 2024.
Copies of submissions can be emailed to Beatriz Allen at ballen@nvhd.org, mailed via USPS (marked attention to Beatriz Allen), or the originals dropped off at the Naugatuck Valley Health District office located at 98 Bank St., Seymour, CT 06483.
All entries MUST have a completed NVHD photo release form attached to be considered. Download a copy here. Each winner will receive a twenty-five-dollar gift card, and the winners’ parents or guardians will be contacted via email by September 5, 2024.
