August is National Immunization Awareness Month!
National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM) is an annual observance held in August to highlight the importance of vaccination for people of all ages. Together, we can help raise awareness about the importance of vaccination and encourage people to talk to a healthcare provider they trust about staying up to date on their vaccinations. Parents and patients may be unsure what vaccines they need. These short, quick quizzes can give them a list of vaccines based on their answers.

Vaccine/Immunization Children’s Books Now Available at All Valley Public Libraries!

At NVHD, we believe that protecting our community’s health starts with education and awareness. National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM) is a vital opportunity to highlight the importance of vaccinations in preventing

serious diseases and protecting public health. Vaccines are a safe and effective way to safeguard individuals and communities from preventable illnesses. They not only protect those who receive them but also help create herd immunity, which is essential for those who cannot be vaccinated due to medical reasons. This month’s awareness campaign serves as a reminder for families to stay on schedule with vaccinations and to discuss any questions or concerns with their healthcare providers.

To further support our commitment to public health and education, NVHD has donated the books pictured above to all eight libraries in our district. These books are designed to educate children and families about the importance of immunizations in a fun and engaging way. By fostering an understanding of vaccines from a young age, we aim to inspire informed conversations about health choices and encourage a culture of proactive health management.
Let’s work together to keep our community healthy! As we celebrate NIAM, we encourage everyone to stay informed, get vaccinated, and share knowledge about the vital role immunizations play in protecting our loved ones and our community.

Together, we can build a healthier future!
