Naugatuck Valley Health District’s goal is to educate and raise awareness of the opioids crisis as it relates to our Valley communities, the State of Connecticut, and nationwide. No previous knowledge or training is required to attend one of our sessions. The NVHD “Community Narcan & Opioids Training” includes a naloxone demonstration and covers the following topics:

  • Understanding Opioids
  • How to Identify an Overdose
  • How to Administer Naloxone, including Narcan
  • Good Samaritan Laws
  • Community Support Information & Resources

When a mobile pharmacist is present, attendees may purchase Narcan with accepted insurances.  NVHD has a limited supply of Narcan kits for those who are uninsured.
